I first heard this sung by the incomparable and always missed Roy Bailey. A singer that I have listened to since before I was born and probably the most powerful singer and storyteller I have ever known. It tells a story of lost love at the time of the “Expulsion of the Acadians”, Canadians of French decent, uprooted and deported to the US by the British.
